About Us

Hi. I'm Geoff Gordon, lifelong Norwell resident. I maintain this website as a service to the community of Norwell; it's funded by the Andrew G. Gordon, Inc. Insurance Agency. My purpose is twofold; first, to have a site where visitors can get a sense of the flavor of the town. The second is to provide resources that may be meaningful and helpful to those interested in Norwell. I hate it when I can't find a Norwell webpage that's too obscure for Google or other search engines to detect.

I won't presume to know everything that's going on in Norwell, nor will I compete with schools or local press to cover those constantly changing themes. After all, this is a hobby, not a paid gig. If you would like to submit content that could enhance this site, please contact me!

Geoff grew up in Norwell, the son of another lifelong Norwellian, Andy Gordon, and has always called Norwell home, even when living elsewhere for a few years in his 20s. His favorite things to do in Norwell often involve the North River in the summer, including occasionally fishing for stripers, visits to 'the spit', and swimming from friends' docks. In the winter, he enjoys snowshoeing, cross country skiing or running through the Stetson Meadows area; good exercise in a beautiful venue.

Geoff's integrity, enthusiasm and commitment extend beyond his work to his long history of community service. In secondary school, Geoff ran a volunteer tutorial program for local children. He was a Big Brother during college, and volunteered for three years with Boston's Youth Enrichment Services (Y.E.S.) after college. In his community, Geoff has taught financial education at Norwell High School, and he served for seven years on the board of the Norwell Education Foundation. Geoff served as President of the Norwell Chamber of Commerce and also organizes and mediates Norwell's annual "Candidates Night" pre-election political forum; he was was recognized for his civic accomplishments as Norwell's Citizen of the Year in 2000. Geoff has coached soccer for over a decde, and has been active in his church's youth programs, currently leading its Confirmation class for 8th graders.
