Town Center
Norwell's Town Center represents much
more to its residents than the geographic
center of town. It's the hub of our
community.
The Town Center houses restaurants,
businesses, function centers, a bank, our
police station, and the James Library, but
remains untouched by congestion.
In fact, you may just decide that the
center is the most beautiful place in town.
So What's Here?
Whom To Contact
Norwell Center has existed
relatively unchanged since 1970.
Some members of the town think it
should be expanded or renovated
to become an even greater asset to
the community.
If you have an opinion, would like
to contribute to this discussion, or
have questions and comments,
Our Town Clock is located at
the intersection of Main Street
and River Street. An
important landmark in the
Norwell Center, the beauty
and elegance of this timepiece
reflect the importance of the
Center to Norwell residents.
...And while we're on the
subject of clocks, First Parish
Church has a clock tower that
chimes on the hour, which can
also be heard from the center.
The James Library
The James Library & Center for the Arts
is housed in a landmark Victorian building
in Norwell Center. It is dedicated to
serving the community by providing
high-quality programs, resources and
materials through its concert series, art
gallery, and the operation of a free lending
library. Its mission is to foster the
creation, appreciation and enjoyment of
the arts for residents of all ages on the
South Shore, while preserving our
building’s historic character.
